The brand name 'Guyatone,' which translates to 'handy-man music,' was first used on instruments in 1951, along with amplifiers and cartridges. In 2013, Guyatone entered a partnership with DeMont Guitars located in Oswego, IL, USA, and now the company manufactures in both the US and Japan. Guyatone emphasizes maintaining high-quality production of both new and remanufactured vintage parts, all crafted in Japan and the US. The Japan division is led by Toshihiko Torii, recognized for his expertise in electronics engineering, collaborating with notable names like Takamine and Sony.
